Duncan Housing Society is a local, community-based, non-profit society.
The overall purpose of the Society is Independent Housing for seniors and persons with disabilities at Duncan Manor.
Duncan Manor is a three-story building, it has a kitchen that serves three meals a day to tenants who need meal service. We are located within walking distance of downtown Duncan.
You would be responsible for:
Preparing delicious meals as well as plating food by the methods specified in a timely manner. You will have an opportunity to create your own dishes as we welcome new menu ideas.
Work with other members of the team to do prep work for other shifts when needed.
Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
Clean the workstation thoroughly prior to leaving the area.
Demonstrate a complete understanding of the current menu.
Monitor inventory and deliveries of products and supplies, and
Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements.
Must haves:
1 year experience working in a commercial kitchen.
Food safety certification is required.
Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
Ability to work proactively to recognize tasks that need doing and with little supervision or no supervision.
A criminal record check will be required.
Morning and Afternoon shifts are available.
Morning shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm with a half-hour break
Afternoon shift from 10 am to 6:30 pm with a half-hour break
