We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our team and contribute to our mission.
Job Description:
As a Personal Support Worker you will play a crucial role in the daily lives of our residents. Your responsibilities will include providing personal care, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring that each resident receives the highest level of respect and dignity. You will work closely with our nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each resident’s individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
– Provide support with meal planning, preparation, and feeding.
– Monitor and record vital signs and any changes in residents’ health status.
– Assist with medication administration as directed by nursing staff.
– Engage residents in meaningful activities and encourage social interaction.
– Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
– Maintain accurate and confidential records of care provided.
– Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
– Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the resident’s living environment.
Qualifications:
– Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or equivalent qualification.
– Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
– Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
– Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude toward elderly residents.
– Basic understanding of healthcare and safety practices.
– Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
