Job Summary:
As an Assistant Junior Estimator for Garage Doors, you will support the estimating team by providing accurate and timely estimates for garage door installations and repairs. Your role involves collaborating with clients, analyzing project requirements, and preparing detailed cost estimates to ensure successful project execution. You will work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and other team members to deliver high-quality estimates that align with company standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimate Preparation:
Assist in preparing detailed estimates for garage door installations, repairs, and replacements.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine project requirements and scope.
Cost Analysis:
Review and evaluate cost data for materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
Research and obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing.
Client Interaction:
Communicate with clients to gather project information, address inquiries, and clarify requirements.
Provide preliminary estimates and assist in preparing detailed proposals for client review.
Documentation:
Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and related documentation.
Update and track changes in project specifications and costs.
Collaboration:
Work closely with senior estimators and project managers to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets.
Participate in team meetings to discuss project requirements, challenges, and progress.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all estimates and proposals.
Adhere to company standards and industry best practices for estimating and project management.
Professional Development:
Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and technological advancements in garage door systems.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance estimating skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in estimating or a related field preferred, but entry-level candidates with relevant coursework or internships are encouraged to apply.
Skills:
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with estimating software and construction management tools is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
