  • DUTIES
  • Under general directions, the successful candidate will be operating a selective laser sintering machine (SLS); industrial grade 3D printer; laser cutting and engraving machine; CNC router and braille machine and a 3D scanner; verifying dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications; preparing 3D models and CAD drawings; assisting in the repair, design, and fabrication of research and teaching equipment; consulting with faculty, staff, and students; planning/preparing cost estimates; tracking project costs; maintaining the work order system; completing WO inspections; maintaining ISO system records; and performing other related duties as required.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience (3-5 years) as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist in a university or related environment; supplemented by the successful completion of an approved mechanical engineering technology program. The successful candidate should have excellent organization and communication skills as well as working knowledge of 3D printing equipment, CNC machinery and programming, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other 3D modeling programs. The successful candidate will be able to work in a team environment.

SALARY $58,913 – $65,938 per annum (CUPE 1615)

An upscale hiring step will apply to this position (Step 6)
