Rod’s Hotrods Customs & Sales is in search of a Junior Technician. We are looking for someone to assist in our shop with a variety of jobs and tasks. Rod’s is the premier dealership in Saskatoon for classic cars, muscle cars, hotrod’s and specialty interest vehicles. Imagine getting to work on the cool cars of your dreams!
Our new Jr. Tech will be responsible for things like:
Mechanical inspections of vehicles – using tools and hoist provided
Mechanical work as required – small repairs, oil changes, general maintenance, etc.
Assisting our Journeymen Technicians and Specialists with jobs as needed
Driving errands such as picking up parts and moving vehicles
Detailing vehicles including exteriors, interiors and undercoating
Clean up around the shop – keeping work areas neat and tidy
Various other tasks as needed
As a Jr. Tech, you’ll get a chance to learn and grow, working with both a red-seal Journeyman Technician and a Restoration Specialist with over 40 years in the business of working on classic cars.
A qualified candidate for our job would posses the following skills and abilities:
Has some experience working with hand tools
Has some experience welding
Already has experience in the automotive industry – possible previous employment could include working at an oil change shop or tire shop etc.
Has an extreme eye for detail – pays attention to the small stuff.
Has a clean driving record – driver’s abstract required
Is a self-starter, able to self manage, stay motivated, and organized
Is able to take direction well from others and works as a cohesive member of the team.
Extra skills that are nice to have but not necessarily mandatory include:
Experience starting/driving vintage vehicles equipped with a choke
Experience driving a manual transmission
Already works on vintage/classic vehicles on their own time.
Full- time or part- time hours to be discussed based on availability.
Wage to be determined based on education, experience, skills and abilities.
