Oxford Food Group has an opportunity for a Production Supervisor, located in Oxford, NS. The position reports to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers who process, package, test, and grade products
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Requisition materials and supplies
  • Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policy
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
  • Prepare production and other reports.
  • Perform corrective machine adjustments, clean machines and immediate work areas

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum Grade 12
  • Post-secondary education would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of the 5 S’s would be considered an asset
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR, with the ability to respond effectively in emergencies would be considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain product quality and regulatory compliance would be considered an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of WHMIS, HACCP and LOTO would be considered an asset.
  • Strong computer literacy would be considered an asset.
  • Several years of experience in the food or beverage processing industry are required.
  • English Language – level four minimum

  • Correctly divert waste to support Zero Waste initiatives
  • React to green wastes (wasted energy and water, air leaks, product leaks etc.) by submitting work orders for immediate repair
