CMP is a dynamic and growing stainless steel equipment manufacturer delivering design, fabrication, and installation services and turn-key solutions to our food processing customers. As a division of FPS (Food Process Solutions), we serve customers across Canada, The United States, and Internationally.

We have developed Global Innovation Center as part of our PEI Campus. This is an exciting new investment in innovation for FPS and CMP. We have an immediate need for a Process Owner to work collaboratively with our team of design engineers in our New Product Development Team.

You will have an opportunity to grow your knowledge of machinery design, food processing technologies, and testing methods. CMP is constantly innovating and contributing to more advanced hygienic designs to exceed our customer needs. We engineer food safety in everything we do.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Comfortable working with customers, communicating in a professional manner to support sales with customer product test requests.
  • Must have excellent skills in managing data and report writing
  • Responsible for personnel safety, acting as Safety Officer for all tests performed in test environments.
  • Responsible for equipment trouble shooting and reporting performance issues
  • Create test processes and procedures.
  • Perform the testing that is required, adhering to test procedures created
  • Build knowledge with various food processing technologies.
  • Coordinate with project manager, technical lead, and/or other team members to execute and document test activities.
  • Triage equipment and test process issues, update team on problem status, and provide solutions or workarounds for test issues/problems/defects.
  • Manage testing requirements, creating, duplicating, and executing test cases/scripts, identifying and documenting testing problems, and reporting testing status and outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to performance standards and best practices during testing.
  • Attend required training programs. Ensure personnel are trained. Develop and deliver selected training programs if required.
  • Ensure adherence to Occupational Health & Safety, Electrical Safety, food safety, and environmental regulations and practices.
  • Apply systems analysis and testing techniques to ensure that functional specifications are correctly identified.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Keep work area neat and tidy
  • Prepare Food samples for testing
  • Document equipment settings and test outcomes.
  • Setting up equipment for testing
  • Prepare and communicate test reports for outcomes of testing
  • Manage raw materials ordering, and proper disposal of tested and untested materials
  • Manage storage of raw materials
  • Lab testing equipment is functional and accurate.
  • Lab areas are 5S standard.
  • Computer literate. (excel, word, PowerPoint) sigma excel is an asset but not required
  • Operation of cleaning equipment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (ideally Biology, Food Science) with mechanical aptitude or associate’s degree
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be an active contributing member of the team.
  • Ability to create written reports and review technical specifications.
  • Excellent organization skills and detail-oriented approach to design.
  • Experience in design for manufacturability is considered an asset.

Salary: $50,000 to $65,000 depending on experience
