Meridia Recruitment has partnered with Newfoundland Chocolate Company in their search for a Marketing and Communications Manager who will be the driving force behind their branding initiatives! In this role, you’ll bring Newfoundland Chocolate Company’s vision to life through innovative marketing and communication strategies. Your creativity will enhance the brand’s visibility and support the success of their iconic products. What You Will Do:

  • Innovate Marketing Strategies: Develop and implement creative marketing campaigns across digital and traditional platforms to boost engagement and brand awareness, drive sales, and promote products. You’ll help actualize the company’s vision for marketing ideas and strategies while also developing your own campaigns and initiatives.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent and cohesive brand messaging across all platforms and touchpoints.
  • Content Creation: Oversee digital marketing efforts including managing Newfoundland Chocolate Company’s social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) with compelling content that highlights the products and story, with a goal to increase engagement. Ensure the website is current, engaging, and aligned with brand objectives.
  • Retail and Seasonal Campaigns: Lead all marketing and communications initiatives related to retail locations, product promotions, monthly campaigns, and seasonal sales, ensuring that brick-and-mortar locations shine.
  • Event Content Creation: Capture and create compelling content at events, such as tastings, cooking classes, and community engagements. Your content will help grow awareness of event offerings and engage the community.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and events, using data to refine strategies and improve outcomes. Success will be measured by KPIs such as sales, social media engagement, expanded partnerships, and brand awareness.
  • Public & Media Relations: Create and coordinate successful marketing strategies with radio stations and billboards and maintain relationships with media, influencers, and community partners. Assist the team in building partnerships and engaging stakeholders to expand brand reach.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Lead development meetings with the entire team, fostering a collaborative and fun company culture. You will oversee an in-house graphic designer and photographer, who will report directly to you.

Who You Are:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or an equivalent combination of experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications, ideally in the food and beverage industry.
  • Creativity: An innovative thinker with a passion for developing out-of-the-box ideas. An appreciation for Newfoundland and Labrador’s unique culture and an ability to integrate local traditions and stories into the creative process.
  • Digital Savvy: Proven ability to develop and implement effective marketing strategies and produce high-quality content. Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and analytics.
  • Organized Leader: Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relationship Builder: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion & Team Spirit: A genuine passion of marketing and an ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
