Instrument Technician

As part of the Construction / Commissioning Team at Braya Renewable Fuels, the Instrument Technician is responsible for the Installation and Commissioning of the Instrumentation Assets associated with the control systems.

Qualifications

  • Industrial Instrumentation and Controls Certification (Red Seal Journeyperson)
  • Five years of field experience as an instrument technician in a process or refinery environment, with refinery being the preference. The five years must include at least 1 year with a DCS system, which implies loop-checking and troubleshooting. ABB DCS is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work-related refinery experience
  • Must hold NL-recognized certifications and educational credentials commensurate with the position, which is established and audited by BRAYA.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven dedication to health, safety, and environment
  • The successful candidate will require a passing grade in an onsite practical skills test which will be administered by the plant instrumentation coordinator.

  • Regularly lifts/moves object up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lifts/moves >50lbs. Push/Pulling forces up to 50lbs are required

  • Use of gross and fine motor skills and maintaining physical balance (e.g., Ladders/scaffolding)
  • Work environments can present exposure to loud noises or environmental hazards
