Steel assembler

Responsibilities:
· Supervise and lead on-site installation teams during the assembly and erection of structural steel and
misc. metal components.
· Ability to perform independent execution, leadership, and supervision of site installations.
· Performing daily quality control checks and ensuring Installation meets the appropriate codes, and
reporting to the president/business owner daily of any discrepancy.
· Read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and
materials required for the project.
· Provide technical guidance and support to installation teams, troubleshooting and resolving any issues
that may arise.
· Assemble and install/erect steel for structural steel components and misc. metals according to drawings,
specifications and industry standards.
· Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery to move materials and equipment as needed.
· Use mechanical knowledge to fabricate, weld, and build structures accurately and efficiently.
· Manage project timelines, budget constraints, and resource allocation to meet project goals.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures at all times.
· Ensuring that completed drawings have been reviewed and comply with companies’ needs (as per
contract).
· Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including progress reports and any modifications to
the original project plan.
· Attention to details specifically within the changes and revisions to existing drawing.
· Ability to work off most up to date information, staying on top of incoming revisions.
· Create and maintain standard connection details to ensure easy assembly on site.
Qualifications:
• 8 to 10 years of experience as a Structure Steel Installer and Supervision or in similar role is a must
• Strong knowledge and experience with MIG and TIG welding
• Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings
• Ability to assemble, fabricate, weld, and build structures according to specifications
• Knowledge of machining techniques and tools
• Ability to operate an overhead crane, boom lift, telehandler, and forklift safely and efficiently (Licenses
required)
• WHIMS, fall protection, CWB, and elevated work platform certificates is mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment
• Physical stamina and ability to work at heights
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking.

• Weekends as needed
