About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer located in Oxford, NS. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and Refrigeration and has overall responsibility for providing Mechanical Engineering support to the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and optimize mechanical designs for manufacturing equipment and systems. This includes CAD modeling, prototyping, and testing.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and improve product quality through innovative mechanical solutions.
  • Lead or contribute to engineering projects from concept to implementation. This involves coordinating resources, managing timelines, and ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Oversee maintenance activities and provide technical support for resolving mechanical issues with production machinery.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, technicians, and production staff, to achieve production goals and resolve operational challenges.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of designs, processes, and procedures.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status and findings.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Progress towards or attainment of a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license is required. The ideal applicant must be eligible for membership in Engineers Nova Scotia or APEGNB.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools used for design and analysis.
  • Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing setting would be considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues in a production environment would be considered an asset.
