Job Summary:
The Propane Technician is responsible for the refurbishment, maintenance, and repair of propane tanks. This
includes refurbishing old propane tanks, changing valves, sealing tanks, and ensuring compliance with safety
regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in handling propane tanks,
replacing valves, and sealing tanks, with a focus on safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
 Propane Tank Refurbishment:
o Inspect and evaluate old propane tanks for damage, wear, and safety compliance.
o Perform refurbishment tasks including cleaning, repainting, and repairing tanks.
o Re-certify refurbished tanks to meet industry standards and regulations.
 Valve Replacement:
o Remove and replace valves on propane tanks as needed.
o Install new valves ensuring proper function and leak prevention.
o Test and inspect valves to confirm they are operating correctly.
 Sealing and Maintenance:
o Seal propane tanks to prevent leaks and ensure overall safety.
o Conduct regular maintenance checks on propane tanks and related equipment.
o Repair or replace damaged components, including seals and fittings.
 Safety and Compliance:
o Follow all safety protocols and guidelines for handling propane tanks and equipment.
o Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
o Maintain detailed records of work performed, including refurbishment and safety inspections.
 Customer Interaction:
o Communicate with customers about the status of their propane tanks and any required repairs or
refurbishments.
o Provide clear explanations of services performed and offer recommendations for further
maintenance.
 Equipment and Tools:
o Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment used in tank refurbishment and valve
replacement.
o Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and perform routine maintenance as
needed.
