Job Description

Aramark is hiring for Culinary Supervisor at its University of Calgary location. This person will ensure the highest level of customer service, safety, sanitation, quality, and consistency while driving sales and controlling costs reporting to Landing manager and Sous Chefs. 

An open and full availability is required all days of the week to schedule shifts to meet business needs. The hourly wage is $20.67, full-time role.  

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the food production concepts in cafeteria according to the principles of proper food handling
  • Responsible to be able to assist in all food stations when required maintain staffing levels during breaks
  • Ensures food freshness and high quality
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety Guidelines in regard to food and worker safety are followed
  • All training for cooks is completed that maybe required
  • Responsible for regular daily temperature checks and cleaner/sanitizer buckets strip tests
  • Responsible for turning on the ovens, grills, deep fryers and dish machine as appropriate, as well as reporting low inventories and equipment failures to management.
  • Assist with training in all BOH areas including the Dish area
  • Responsible for onsite immediate investigation of all incidents and injuries.  Report to office with all findings
  • Responsible to enter Prima information into the system
  • Responsible to ensure daily that the FOOD SAFETY AUDIT IS MET  – THE LOCATION MUST BE AUDIT READY AT ALL TIMES  
  • Documentation of all employee incidences
  • Ensure stock is maintained by doing inventory and ordering
  • Ensure daily rotation of specials and product
  • Supervision of all staff while working and positive team building and standards
  • Maintains work schedule
  • Ensures all ARAMARK guidelines, policies and procedures are followed
  • Ensures good customer service
  • Ensure adequate supply of foods required according to the fluctuation of demand with minimal waste
  • Follow standardized menus/menu rotations
  • Govern by the Collective Agreement
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Executive Chef and all management team member

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years work experience as a Lead cook
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a Leadership role
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor to the team
  • Ability to create and promote a positive work environment  
  • Detail oriented 
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
