Our Team

Our Newfoundland and Labrador Operations are an integrated mining, milling, and processing operation. Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey’s Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.

The Warehouse Operations team is integral to the success of the Voisey’s Bay operation to ensure we continue to be a safe, predictable, and reliable producer. The Warehouse team is responsible to ensure parts and materials are available when required.

The Opportunity

Vale recognizes the Impacts and Benefits Agreements with the Innu Nation and the Nunatsiavut Government in which Innu and Inuit workers have first preference for employment at the Voisey’s Bay Mine Site. This is guided by an adjacency principle that first gives preference to those who live on the coast of Labrador, followed by those residing in the rest of Labrador, those residing on the island of the province, followed by the rest of Canada.

Next, priority will be given to Newfoundland and Labrador residents. We also welcome those who are willing to relocate back home and those looking to make NL their permanent home.

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Coordinator to join our Warehouse Department in Voisey’s Bay, NL. This is a permanent position.

This position is based at the Voisey’s Bay mine site in Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. This position is on a two week on, two week off rotation.

The Warehouse Coordinator assists leadership with all aspects of the warehouse operations. The Warehouse Coordinator will support the Warehouse Team in working at the Voisey’s Bay Mine Site.

Additionally, in this position you will:

• Implementation of systems where employees, equipment, and processes are protected against hazards;
• Being a role model for safety, health, and environment action;
• Identifying improvement opportunities and work with team to implement the opportunities;
• Helping to ensure warehousing complies to Vale’s norms as well as to required internal and external auditing criteria;
• Leading the annual cycle count;
• Traceability of sea containers on site
• Reviewing various warehouse/inventory reports;
• Leading various initiatives;
• Using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) software;
• Assisting in entry of department schedules, payroll, vacationing, and travel requirements;
• Following all company policies and procedures (VPS).
• All other duties as required.

About You

Education:

• Completion of High School Diploma with supplementary training and experience in Warehouse/Inventory Control.
• Preference will be given to applicants with Supply Chain Management Professional Designation (S.C.M.P., C.P.M., C.P.P.) or Supply Chain Logistic Professional Designation (CITT).

Experience:

• 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment.

Skills:

• Strong SAP background
• Must have experience and knowledge with SAP involved in warehousing inventories,
• Must have strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills
• 5S Lean background would be an asset
