Senior Supervisor, Plant Operations

Location: Churchill Falls

You will supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of all Operations personnel in Plant, Hydrology and System Operations.­ You will maintain surveillance of all plant and related equipment through inspections and regular review of station logs and equipment deficiency lists.­ You will coordinate load scheduling, outages and GWAC with the Hydro Quebec short term coordinator.­ You will work with Maintenance Planning and other departments to coordinate equipment outages.

You will perform regular inspections of the hydraulic structures and switchyard.­ You will produce daily and monthly energy and hydraulic related reports, including billing information.­ You will maintain current and historical energy, hydraulic and other related files.

­You must possess a Journeyperson certificate as a Power Systems Operator, and have a minimum of five years experience in the operation of a large hydro plant.­ You have experience in water scheduling, volume forecasting and storage requirements of a hydroelectric power facility.­ Experience in transmission and switchyard operations is an asset.­ A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel is preferred.­ Other combinations of equivalent experience and education may be considered.
