Looking to learn cars

My whole life I’ve wanted to learn about cars and actually be able to work on them but my dad and grandpa are both really old school and wouldn’t share their knowledge, despite literally naming me Mercedes. My experience is literally all in construction and kitchens, but I’m hoping maybe someone could use a little help a couple days a week and will want to pass along some knowledge.
