Catering Sales & Events Coordinator

The Simon Hotel Sydney, is currently seeking a Catering Sales & Events Coordinator who will assist with the co-ordinations and sales of catering/banquets and of food services; maintaining a positive attitude and possessing the ability to train and motivate a team that delivers service to exceed client expectations.

This role requires an organized, energetic, creative and service oriented person who displays pride with their work, takes initiative and displays professionalism at all times. You must be confident and able to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines. Your goal will be to maximise catering revenues through a sales approach and see events through from beginning to end, ensuring attention to detail is exercised. This is not a Monday to Friday role as catering events can take place any day and any time from the mornings to the evenings. Having a flexible schedule is a must but you will also be able to adjust it as required for business needs while still maintaining a work-life balance.

Compensation Package:

Salary: $42,000 plus gratuities & incentive plan

Group Benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, AD&D, EAP) commencing at date of hire

Other Requirements & Responsibilities:

• Proven experience and leadership skills in a service/hospitality/supervisory role
• Must posses an energetic and outgoing personality
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, including food safety and smart serve
• Experience in administrative and sales processes
• Ability to foster a team spirit and provide service training
• To be involved with catering menu planning and marketing
• Degree/Certificate from a recognized university/college or other program related to Hospitality is preferred; equivalent experience would be considered.
• Able to work 40 hours/week on a flexible schedule and must have a good command in English.
