Full Time Seasonal Farm Equipment Operator

We grow tall fescue seed, dry edible beans, hybrid seed canola, grain corn, and durum. For the 2024 harvest season, we are seeking a team member eager to contribute to the success of our irrigated seed and speciality crop farm.

We are looking for someone with a passion for agriculture and experience operating farm machinery. This job occasionally requires long hours, working on weekends and occasionally under less-than-ideal conditions. We offer a competitive salary, WCB, optional housing, and the potential for a year-end bonus.

Summary of Position:

Equipment Operators are responsible for various tasks such as operating agricultural equipment, repairing and maintaining equipment, repairing and maintaining irrigation pivots and general farm duties.

General Responsibilities:

• Operate farm machinery such as combines, trucks, grain carts, mowers, swather, and row cropping equipment
• Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment
• Maintain and operate irrigation equipment
• Ensure all farm equipment, augers, trucks, and storage bins meet proper sanitation protocols for certified seed production
• Assist in the general repair and maintenance of farm buildings and yard
• All other duties as assigned

Reports to:
• Kent Sereda

Key Requirements:
• Driver’s license – with clean abstract
• Experience operating farm equipment with an emphasis on harvest operations
• Mechanically competent and comfortable running and maintaining a variety of farm equipment
• Familiarity with GPS equipment
• The ability to work in a variety of conditions, including working at heights, in dusty conditions, and outdoors in hot or cold weather
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Willingness to work longer hours and weekends during seeding and harvest
• Ability to maintain a positive and productive atmosphere
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to function well under stressful conditions
• A Class 1 license would be an asset
