In our 142 bed facility, care is provided in an enriched housing, an assisted living, and a nursing home setting. We are committed to providing holistic care to the residents we serve.

The Billing Clerk position:

  • Prepares all billings for Grand View Manor residents as well as Orchard View and Fundy Villa apartment tenants, Nova Scotia Public Housing Agency, Department of Veteran’s Affairs and NS Department of Seniors & Long Term Care.
  • Responsible for reconciliations of provincial funding of resident board bills.
  • Maintains Resident Trust Funds and Resident Files.

Administrative Assistant responsibilities:

  • Daily admin tasks for operations of Grand View Manor including but not limited to managing a multi-line switch board phone, organizing minutes and documents for Board of Directors meetings, sorting mail, etc.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:

  • Prepares memorial donation acknowledgments
  • Prepares monthly billings.
  • Maintains Resident Trust Funds and reconcile monthly
  • Sets up and maintains Resident files
  • Tracks Resident movement and maintains Resident Statistic sheets
  • Responds to resident and family concerns
  • Responds to tenant and family concerns
  • Arranges for telephone and cable hook-ups and disconnections
  • Provides coverage for other clerical staff as needed
  • Manage multi-line switchboard phone
  • Organize documents & meetings, take minutes at Board of Directors Meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

ABOUT YOU:

  • Post Secondary Education Business Administration (or equivalent)
  • Experience in bookkeeping/clerical role required
  • Experience working with Senior Leadership Team & Board of Directors
  • Knowledge & Experience in Healthcare is advantageous
  • 2 years experience in Long Term Care considered an asset
  • Proven ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, tact and empathy
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ownership of carrying out responsibilities, using creativity and resourcefulness to achieve desire results.
  • Strong initiative and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products
  • Requires minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Proven ability to work with a ‘continuous quality improvement’ mindset daily
  • Clear Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check
