Experienced Dog Trainer needed (Great salary + commission)

We are looking for a moderate to highly experienced Dog Trainer to join our award winning and fast growing small business. Our property has dock diving, pool therapy, a splash pad, a private dog park, grooming, a dog friendly patio and a training based daycare. Opportunities to be cross skilled in all areas of our business will be presented to the successful candidate.

Candidates that satisfy our mandatory and bonus skills below will be awarded with maximum salary and other compensation bonuses.

Remote work from home is a possibility if your core focus is purely with our board and train programs.

Our Responsibilities:

– To educate and explain the psychology of our training methods and why we train every dog differently based on their uniqueness, personality, titration levels and breed

Your Responsibilities:

– Have a home environment suitable to take care of our board and train dogs going through specialised programs

– Have an open and adaptable mindset when learning new training techniques from all 4 quadrants of operant conditioning.

– Be open to occasionally boarding non training dogs in your home (bonus commission applies)

– Conduct or assist in individual and group training sessions for dogs of various breeds and ages.

– Teach obedience commands, leash walking, and socialization skills

– Provide guidance and support to dog owners on reinforcing training techniques at home

– Maintain accurate records of each dog’s progress and behavior, and provide regular updates to owners via videos and text messages

– Ensure a safe and positive training environment for both dogs and owners

Mandatory Skills:

– Extensive experience in handling dogs of all breeds and sizes

– Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate and train dog owners

– Moderate to expert knowledge of positive & negative reinforcement training methods and behavior modification techniques

– Ability to adapt training approaches based on individual dog personalities and learning styles

– Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with and caring for animals

Bonus Skills:

– Adept at video and photo content creation

– Great video & photo editing skills

– Social media management and content creation

– Moderate to expert grooming knowledge

– CPR pet first aid certified
