At Pomerleau, we are more than just a workplace; we are an energetic organization that thrives on collaboration, professional development, and, most importantly, having fun!”The OpportunityAs a Cost Controller working in the Civil & Infrastructure Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a key role in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information on day-to-day cost expenditures to assist project management in making decisions for your assigned projects. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will have access to all available information that may have financial implications for the project, including accounting, management, payroll, legal, contractual, materials, procurement, etc Please note that this role is based at a remote project site close to the Lower Mainland of Vancouver. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working within this environment. What YOU Will Do – Be responsible for the dissemination, explanation, and monitoring of the proper adherence to the Management Methods.- Maintain constant communication with the Works, Procurement, and Accounting teams to ensure proper expense allocation and thereby guarantee consistent management.- Develop a summary of budgets within your scope. Ensure the coherence of data and budget assumptions.- Ensure the reliability of operating results, with a particular focus on:Remaining expenses, quantities implemented, key ratios, and their changes.Changes in billing discrepancies.Operational disputes.Equipment.Unsettled orders.Staff and hourly personnel time tracking.Accrued expenses. – Ensure the proper management of the entity, with a specific focus on:Monthly financial reports.Entity overhead costs (staff tracking, operating expenses).Consideration of potential social and environmental risks.Compliance with framework contracts negotiated by the Project team.Various discrepancy accounts (equipment, personnel, etc.). – Through the above-mentioned controls, play a vigilant role in advising the Consortium’s Administrative and Financial Director and the Project Management in general.- Advise and assist the project management:Respond to requests for analyses and summaries from the Project Management in the field of management control.Initiate studies or various analyses independently.Contribute to the management of competencies within all teams and lead training on essential management and information system usage.Collaborate with project managers to establish and input budgets into the system.Responsible for managing 2 clerks who will collect the information on a daily basis. What YOU Will BringBachelor’s degree in management or an engineering-related field;5 to 10 years of experience in a similar position within the construction industry;Ability to work on your own initiative;Ability to anticipate and plan priority tasks; Good listening skills and synthesis abilities;Strong interpersonal skills;Comfortable working at a remote project site close to the Lower Mainland of Vancouver. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location.
