Civil Earthworks Supervisor

Seeking full-time Civil Earthworks Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of construction projects (Halifax and surrounding areas). The person must communicate effectively with stakeholders, such as clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and workers. The Heavy Civil Earthworks Supervisor will oversee the daily activities within the project to ensure alignment with the safety, environmental, quality, and contractual requirements (including budget) of the project.
Hourly Rate: $35-45 and company vehicle based on qualifications.
Job Duties:
• Promote a Safe, Respectful and Professional Work Environment
• Read and Interpret Construction Drawings and Specifications
• Ensure the Safety of all Personnel on Projects
• Ensure Environmental Compliance of Work Projects
• Perform, Educate and Document Daily Field Level Hazard Assessments, Tool Boxes, Daily Equipment Inspections and Light Vehicle Inspections
• Client Management and Update Senior Staff Accordingly
• Resource Scheduling and Coordinating of Equipment, Manpower, Materials and Subcontractors including Progress Tracking
• Assist with Engineering Requirements
• Co-ordinate Daily Activities with Crews and Subcontractors
• Ensure Quality of Work Meets or Exceeds Contractual Requirements
• Works Under Pressure and Tight Deadlines.
• Keep a Structured and Organized Work Site and Equipment
• Understands, Possesses Knowledge of Heavy Equipment, Operations and Best Practices.
• Possess a Valid Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract
• Operate and Maintain in a Professional Manner all of Company Provided Assets
• Adhere to all Company Policies
• Train, Mentor and Lead other Employees
Job Requirements:
• Minimum of Valid Class 5 Drivers License
• Minimum of 5 Year Experience in the Construction Industry in a Supervisory Role
• Strong Leadership, Communication, Interpersonal and Supervisory Skills
• Be Fit for Duty
• Able to Work in Various Environments and Weather Conditions
• First Aid and CPR
• WHIMS
• Have Good Organizational Skills and be Self-Disciplined
• Ability to Operator Heavy Equipment Considered an Asset
